Requirements of the job:

  • Speak Cantonese
  • Able to work full time from now through early April
  • Will probably work over 40 hours each week
  • Able to work evenings and weekends
  • Interested in recruiting and supervising volunteers
  • Must attand weekly meetings at ICIRR.

Weekly wages: $325 paid by ICIRR.

New Beginnings: New Connections - October 29, 2009

On October 29, 2009, the Chinese Mutual Aid Association was proud to host their 2009 Annual Dinner: New Beginnings: New Connections, celebrating success and hard work invested in many of CMAA’s programs such as: citizenship, family literacy, youth programs, and many more. The night was introduced with appetizers and dance performances, and later speeches from alumni youth participants.

People Before Politics: Rally at Thompson Center Plaza

Representatives of CMAA from a variety of departments joined hundreds of representatives of social services groups on Thursday, June 18, 2009, in an attempt to cull the barrage of budget cuts facing their programs.

CMAA clients, students, and staff plan on participating in a rally at Thompson Center tomorrow, protesting Illinois legislature's recent budget cuts that would cut 50% of the social service programs the state provides.

Women Health Survey Targets Middle-Aged Women (40-60 y/o)

If you are a woman between age 40 to 60 years old, and care about women's health issues, please help Dr. Eun-Ok Im and her research team at University of Texas at Austin with their women health study by participating an online survey regarding women's health. Each participant will be reimbursed with a gift certificate of 10 dollars per Internet survey and an additional gift certificate of 50 dollars per online forum discussion (6 months).
