CMAA Celebrates Generational Success with YWW and YMM Graduation Ceremony

Chicago, IL — On June 27, the CMAA honored the accomplishments of mentees in the Young Women Warriors (YWW) and Young Men Making Moves (YMMM) programs. Held at Sun Wah Barbecue, the event was a joyous occasion where graduates, mentors, and families gathered to share stories, enjoy performances, and celebrate milestones—the evening recognized the achievements of 24 middle school graduates, four high school graduates, and two college graduates, highlighting the broad reach and success of CMAA’s mentorship efforts.

The graduates were joined by friends, family, CMAA mentors, and even key community leaders such as Alderwoman Leni Manaa—Hoppenworth. This celebration underscores the importance of community support in sustaining CMAA’s programs.

Designed especially for high school and middle school students, the YWW and the YMM are exceptional mentorship programs that offer crucial guidance and support as teens navigate the challenging transition to adulthood. They help them build confidence, leadership skills, and a clear vision for their future.

CMAA’s community impact among the youth is further bolstered through events like their recent graduation celebration. With ongoing support and dedication, CMAA remains a cornerstone of the community, fostering growth, education, and success across generations. As the organization looks to the future, it continues to inspire and uplift those it serves, one young person, one program, and one celebration at a time.
